Zil Hoque, born in India in 1962, has lived and worked in London for most of his life.
He is a painter whose work has been mainly influenced by his deep connection with Spanish culture, history and people.
The discovery of the great Masters such as Goya and Velasquez was a revelation in his formative years and remain a constant source of inspiration.
His skilful oil technique and mastery of light are a strong feature in his work, and the colours of his palette a reminiscence of the heat of the Andalucían landscapes.
